Why we’re seeking your feedback

Transport for NSW and Sydney Ferries operator Transdev are committed to delivering the best possible ferry services for you.

From mid 2020, we will be delivering an additional 400 services each week across the F1 Manly and F4 Cross Harbour routes.

To deliver more frequent services when and where they are needed, the F4 Cross Harbour route will be separated into an East and West route.

We are also ordering three new Emerald Class ferries to improve the frequency of F1 Manly, and at least 10 new Parramatta River Class ferries will progressively replace the Charter, Rivercat, SuperCat and HarbourCat fleets.

The low wash Parramatta River Class vessels will carry around 200 customers and deliver faster journey times and improved comfort.

We have also developed plans to improve services on other routes of the network, to be implemented in 2021 and we are asking the community to share their feedback about the proposed changes over the next few months. This consultation process is conducted by Transdev on behalf of Transport for NSW.

Several resources and tools are available for you to inform yourself and join the conversation:

  • Routes and wharves brochures about the proposed service plans.
  • Route-specific surveys: answer a few questions about the proposed service changes.
  • Wharf feedback map: 'pin' the wharf you would like to comment on, answer a quick survey about proposed changes, share general feedback about this wharf and upload photos.
  • Q&A forum: ask your questions, our team will answer them within two business days. Throughout the consultation process, we will also be holding live Q&A sessions for you to directly talk with our team.

How will your feedback be utilised to guide the final service plan?

  • In December 2019 and then from end February 2020, Transport for NSW and Sydney Ferries operator Transdev will conduct an in-depth review of the feedback you have shared with us.
  • From March to May 2020, we will review and adapt the service plan to ensure it meets your expectations.
  • Throughout the consultation process, we will send you updates on where we are at with consultation activities.
